Week of February 15th and 22nd, 2010
We will be discovering that Jesus chose 12 special helpers to join him as his disciples (or friends). He found Simon Peter, his brother Andrew and James with his brother John. They were fishing on the Sea of Galilee. In bible times fishing was a very important job. Fishermen would throw their big nets into the water and catch lots of fish. They would then take the fish to market where people would buy them. Jesus told them, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men!” The four brothers as well as 8 other men joined Jesus because they knew he was the true Son of God. Then they went out to help Jesus tell everyone about God.
