 We have been exploring air and doing many science experiments which include air streams, suction, pressure, warmed moving air etc. . .

When asked - what do you know about air? The children have given many responses, which were conclusions from all the various science  experiments that were demonstrated.  We continue to build more knowledge about air with more experiences in science and in the  classroom.  

March - Warmed air

The children will label the materials:

Cylinder, hot water, dented ping-pong ball, tongs.

Question:  What will happen, when I take the ping-pong ball and submerge the ball in the hot water?

The children will make predictions.

Experiment

Conclusions:  The dent is gone, Why?When the air in the ping-pong ball warms up, it expands and needs more room, so the dent is pushed out.

We review what is learned about air each week.
