St. Paul’s Children’s Garden

General Watering Guidelines

  1. First of all, thank you for your help!
  2. We ask that you consult the maps of the gardens that show all the valves for watering the garden beds in the Children’s Garden and the rows in the Prayer Garden section. Allow plenty of time to saturate the ground.
  3. Please include watering the trees, shrubs and roses in all the perimeter areas. Again look at the maps to find the location of the hoses and sprinkler valves.
  4. Water as often during your week as the weather dictates. Your schedule is up to you. (We encourage you to bring your family, have a picnic and enjoy it together).
  5. We also ask that you return any misplaced items back where they belong (i.e. shovels, dinosaurs, watering cans etc.) and if possible carry any trash or clippings out to our dumpster located along side the parking lot.
    1. Hand shovels, trash bags, watering cans belong on the potting table.
  6. If you need any larger tools (shovels, picks rakes) they are located in the red shed located on the children’s garden. This shed is locked, but the combination is: 0-0-0-0 for all 3 locks. Please be sure to secure them when you leave. If you need wheelbarrows they are located behind this same shed. We ask that you return them when you are finished and be certain that the latch is securely fastened before you leave.
  7. Please be sure to know where your own children are during this volunteer time and that the gates are kept closed.
  8. Once again, thank you for your efforts and support!
