Children's Garden: Watering Guidelines

  1. First of all, thank you for your help!

  2. We are asking you to be responsible for the original garden to the far left of the parking lot and the Prayer Garden section directly to the right of it. The pavilion area will not need your attention. The church has a community garden to the far right that is maintained by individual gardeners.

  3. Our garden does have an automatic sprinkler system. Sprinklers are typically programmed to come on in the early morning and later afternoon hours.

  4. With that being stated we ask you to check to make certain the soil is moist. If it is not please go ahead and water by hand. The location of the garden hoses are drawn on the accompanying map. Allow plenty of time to saturate the ground watering at the base of the plant, not spraying the leaves.

  5. Please include watering the trees, shrubs and roses in all the perimeter areas.

  6. Water as often during your week as the weather dictates. Your schedule is up to you. (We encourage you to bring your family, have a picnic and enjoy it together).

  7. We also ask that you return any misplaced items back where they belong (i.e. shovels, dinosaurs, watering cans etc.) and if possible carry any trash or clippings out to our dumpster located along side the parking lot.

    • Hand shovels, trash bags, watering cans belong on the potting table.

  8. If you need any larger tools (shovels, picks rakes) they are located in the red shed located on the children’s garden. This shed is locked, but the combination is: 0-0-0-0 for all 3 locks. Please be sure to secure them when you leave. If you need wheelbarrows they are located behind this same shed. We ask that you return them when you are finished and be certain that the latch is securely fastened before you leave.

  9. Please be sure to know where your own children are during this volunteer time and that the gates are kept closed.

  10. Once again, thank you for your efforts and support!
